What Inspires You

People say to me who or what inspires you. This is a hard one to answer because it would depend on where I am or who I’m with. However, I would like to share with you why I was inspired to specialise in supporting people and their families with a Chronic Illness diagnosis. I grew up with a Mum who had a chronic illness that left her bedridden for months on end in and out of the hospital and often in pain from the effects of her illness. I saw my husband suffer from cancer as well as my sister in law. I’ve seen my best friend diagnosed and suffering from Motor Neurones Disease one of the cruellest illnesses around.

I’ve seen my Grandson diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

They are the reasons I’m inspired to support people with chronic illnesses. I’ve seen their struggle, the effects not only on themselves but also the families and friends around them. If I can support them in any way that’s what I’ll do they inspire me to always be looking for ways I can support them. That’s the who and why of what inspires me.
